Zara White suspects there's a freaky guy semi-stalking her. She's also obsessed with phobias. And it's true, she hasn't exactly been herself since her stepfather died. But exiling her to shivery Maine to live with her grandmother? That seems a bit extreme. The move is supposed to help her stay sane...but Zara's pretty sure her mom just can't deal with her right now.She couldn't be more wrong. Turns out the semi-stalker is not a figment of Zara's overactive imagination. In fact, he's still following her, leaving behind an eerie trail of gold dust. There's something not right - not human - in this sleepy Maine town, and all signs point to Zara.In this creepy, compelling breakout novel, Carrie Jones delivers romance, suspense, and a creature you never thought you'd have to fear.
Need is a
young-adult urban fantasy. This narrative centers on a teenage girl named
Zara, a strong-minded girl who enjoys helping others. After the death of her
stepfather, Zara was sent to live with her grandmother in Maine as part of her
recovery. Like life isn’t a struggle enough, Zara, has to deal with nasty
pixies. As the books progress, Zara discovers series of personal challenges and
also discovers a huge family secret that will change her life...
Nick is a boy who Zara meets in Maine, she fancies him and soon
Zara and Nick became an item. But Nick
has a secret of his own he is a supernatural!
Nick is a loner, and he likes helping others, but in a different way
than Zara would expect. He is also dashing and down right chivalrous and that,
did win Zara over… amidst the conflict with Zara’s revelations, Nick became her
rock and together they made am impossible situation possible!
Carrie Jones is an author that I
read a long time ago; I am just getting around to reviewing this book. I
especially like the cover art and the twist, turn and suspense of the book.
Jones has an interesting writing flair and her characters are relatable. The conversations are a bit clichéd and
somewhat PG, but I found myself appreciating the corniness. I’m curious about
book two.

He smiles. It's a wicked smile. Kind but not kind. Handsome but dangerous. Feral almost. I can see why Nick nearly killed him, Nick...I ask again, "Why were you in the road?""I was waiting for you."Zara and her friends thought they'd solved the pixie problem. And they did - sort of. The pixie's are all locked away, deep in the woods. But the king's needs grow stronger each day that he is in captivity, while his control over his people weakens. And it's enough to draw a new king into town. Astley claims he is different. He claims there are pixies who can live peacefully with humans, that it doesn't have to be all violence and nastiness all the time. Zara wants to believe him...until Astley also claims that she is fated to be his queen. There is no way Zara would ever turn pixie. And she's got good friends who will make sure of that. Besides, she and Nick are so in love they're practically inseparable. But when they very thing Zara wants to protect most is exactly what's at risk, she is forced to make choices she never imagined....
This story
renews after Zara and her friends find a way to capture and deal
with her father, the Pixies King! Even though the horrendous tax weighed Zara
down, imprisoning her father and her race in the most cruel way, Zara is happy
that at least
Nick and her have time to breathe and most importantly time to
focus on their relationship. But then comes Astley! Hot sexy Astley!
Astley is now the pixie king, Zara’s father’ successor, and he
carries a torch for Zara's, with vague intentions. As the story progress, It’s ultimately divulged
that Astley wishes to make Zara his queen.
In this book watch Zara fraught with her humanity and her pixie
heritage. Zara is drawn to Astley, Her king but she believes she’s in love with
Nick… worst, its no secret that Nick loathes pixies. This book focuses mainly
on Zara and Nick and Astley’s relationships.
I was super excited to get started on this next installment of
the Need series. This book did not disappoint me! I love it… yet it was heart
wrenching and my heart goes out the Zara, she was force to make an impossible
decision and even though it might end badly and she might loose her friends,
Love was the deciding factor in the end.
Carrie Jones did a good job with this book. I liked it.

Zara and Nick are soul mates, meant to be together for ever. But that's not quite how things have worked out. For starters, Nick has gone. He has been taken to the mythical place for warriors known as Valhalla. Zara and her friends might be able to get him back, it's just not going to be easy. Meanwhile a group of evil pixies is devastating Bedford, with more teens going missing every day. An all-out war seems imminent, and the good guys need all the warriors they can find. But even if Zara and her friends do discover the route to Valhalla, there's that other small problem: Zara's been pixie kissed. When she finds Nick, will he even want to go with her? Especially since she hasn't turned into just any pixie... She's Astley's queen.

Zara is at the center of an impending apocalypse. True, she’s successfully rescued Nick from Valhalla, but it simply isn’t enough. Evil pixies are ravaging Bedford, and they need much more than one great warrior; they need an army. Zara isn’t sure what her role is anymore. She’s not just fighting for her friends; she’s also a pixie queen. And to align her team of pixies with the humans she loves will be one of her greatest battles yet. Especially since she can’t even reconcile her growing feelings for her pixie king . . .Unexpected turns, surprising revelations, and one utterly satisfying romantic finale make Endure a thrilling end to this series of bestsellers.
