I feel like I have been inducted into an “ in” sorority” because any book lover who hasn’t read J.R Ward’s Black Dagger brotherhood series has really…. Ahh… yeah!

This is the first installment of this series and I was hooked! The author is a funny and an amazing writer! And I love the way she writes. Dark Lover is not your archetypal paranormal romance. It is crammed with twist and its action packed! In this debut book, Wrath, a vampire sovereign- a loner by nature, a Brother who also hunts alone, the blind King. Until his good friend Darius asks for Wrath's help with his daughter’s transformation. Wrath, naturally turned the request down, he doesn’t want to be responsible for no one but himself. Darius's daughter, Beth is a half-breed and she is getting ready to transform into her Vamp side, but Beth will need the help of a strong vampire male to help with the process. Wrath refused the responsibility, but then Darius is murdered! Wrath is obligated to honor his fellow brother’s request. Ward's new vampire world is a mouth-watering addition to the sub-genre of vampire fiction. Her story is dark, and erotic, VERY entertaining. Ward has taken the vampire myth and refashioned it. Also, Ward has a diverse group of secondary characters, (Rhage (Rage), Phury (Fury), Vishous (Vicious), Zsadist (Sadist), Tohrment (Torment)). And then, there are the Lessers, from the Lessening society!!! (Vamp Slayers)! Fascinating! I am highly looking forward to the next in the series. I liked it!
