Title: Days Of Blood & Starlight
Author:
Laini Taylor
Series:
Daughter of Smoke and Bones # 2
Publisher:
Little Brown & company
Publication:
November 6th 2012
Art student and monster's apprentice Karou finally has the answers she has always sought. She knows who she is—and what she is. But with this knowledge comes another truth she would give anything to undo: She loved the enemy and he betrayed her, and a world suffered for it.In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed Daughter of Smoke & Bone, Karou must decide how far she'll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, secrets and impossible choices, Days of Blood & Starlight finds Karou and Akiva on opposing sides as an age-old war stirs back to life. While Karou and her allies build a monstrous army in a land of dust and starlight, Akiva wages a different sort of battle: a battle for redemption. For hope. But can any hope be salvaged from the ashes of their broken dream?
HOPE, such a small word yet it can build or
destroy nations. Can HOPE really be enough to fight for what you believe in?
When everything seemed to be at a standstill or at a loss? I wonder, I forget,
I just don't know. And then there is forgiveness...
Once upon a time, an Angel and a Devil fell in love and dared to imagine a world free of bloodshed
and war.
This is not that world.
-
Indeed.
In
2011, I proclaimed Daughter of Smoke and Bones to be the best book of the year 2011
and I still stand by my words. Now this sequel, Days of Blood and Starlight is
(in my opinion) is the best book of 2012! No holds bar!!!
Days
of Blood and Starlight was a great story! It had various and all emotion I can
think of and in the hub of it all; it had an addictive quality to it. I can't
give anything away, I will not! But rest assured that this book left its mark
on me. I don't know what to say or to do, to give this masterpiece justice
because there are no words, no sentence, no adjective to qualify Laini Taylor's
work...
All
I can say is that 2013 will be a long wait and may the gods of books help me!
Because I can't help but wonder...
what's going to happen?
How
can they forgive all that?
Will they succeed?
Will
there be peace?
And
lastly…
Is HOPE really enough to fight for A dream?
S#!T!!!!
WOW!

The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it. ~James Bryce
