Once A Witch by Carolyn MacCullough

Once a Witch (Witch #1)By Carolyn MacCulloughTamsin Greene comes from a long line of witches, and she was supposed to be one of the most Talented among them. But Tamsin's magic never showed up. Now seventeen, Tamsin attends boarding school in Manhattan, far from her family. But when a handsome young professor mistakes her for her very talented sister, Tamsin agrees to find a lost family heirloom for him. The search—and the stranger—will prove to be more sinister than they first appeared, ultimately sending Tamsin on a treasure hunt through time that will unlock the secret of her true identity, unearth the sins of her family, and unleash a power so vengeful that it could destroy them all. This is a spellbinding display of storytelling that will exhilarate, enthrall, and thoroughly enchant.

Tamsin Greene is a stereotypical 17-year-old, except she was expected to be the most talented witch in her family. But, Tamsin does not have a witch talent!!! Or should I say her talent never manifested at the expected age! She also struggles with being a part of a powerful family and not being able to participate in anything witchy. Worst her talented, older sister is next in to taking over the family as an O.B. 1 after their grandmother's passing. Excepted faith has something else in store for Tam!!! While working in her grandmother's bookstore, Tamsin was mistaken for her older talented sister. Though she did NOT correct the stranger’s assumptions, she chose to help the stranger in need of help. Tamsin agrees to take on the task.  (Finding an old family heirloom).  Simple right?
This is the first book I have read By Carolyn MacCullough and I loved every minute of it!!! I love the action, humor, and I adored the storyline!!! I like books that help you see beyond the surface.
Throughout this fast-paced book, MacCullough summons an incredible conception of self-discovery, teenage distress, family secrets, and then some. Maccullough is a brilliant writer and her eloquent writing skills enthralled me into seeking and eagerly waiting for the conclusion of this series!!! 4 stars!!!

Always a Witch (Witch # 2)By Carolyn MacCulloughThe adventures of Tam and Gabriel continue with more time travel, Talents, spy work, and of course, the evil Knights.Since the gripping conclusion of Once A Witch, Tamsin Greene has been haunted by her grandmother's prophecy that she will soon be forced to make a crucial decision—one so terrible that it could harm her family forever. When she discovers that her enemy, Alistair Knight, went back in time to Victorian-era New York in order to destroy her family, Tamsin is forced to follow him into the past. Stranded all alone in the nineteenth century, Tamsin soon finds herself disguised as a lady's maid in the terrifying mansion of the evil Knight family, avoiding the watchful eye of the vicious matron, La Spider, and fending off the advances of Liam Knight. As time runs out, both families square off in a thrilling display of magic. And to her horror, Tamsin finally understands the nature of her fateful choice.

Always a witch is the final episode in this series!!! The conclusion of Once A Witch was mind bogging!!!  Tamsin Greene is disturbed by her grandmother's divination that she is forced to make a critical decision, a decision so vital that it might end up wiping out the Greene family or saving them forever! We all know from the first book, that Alistair Knight is the villain… well he is up to something! And Tamsin is just the person to help save her family!!! As her grandmother had predicted, She is the most powerful witch of them all..  But not in the way we would expect! And in this book you would find out why… MacCullough wrote this conclusion better than I thought possible it was worth every minute of my time!!! Her conclusion made sense and I was sorry that this series has come to an end!  This book was slow building and in the end it was earth shattering… I can’t give too much away, but I can say you will not be disappointed… It was amazing!!!!
 5 stars!!!
