The Immortals by Alyson Noel

Evermore (The Immortals #1)by Alyson Noel  Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch.   Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste… Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition.  He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets.  Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head.  She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is.  Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

What’s it like to live forever? Definitely a question to be asked when reading this book, and you do get a somewhat answer. We follow Ever, who is the lone survivor of a car accident. She is living with her Aunt and only living relative. She is somewhat antisocial- choosing only to confer with Miles and Haven- due to her new mystical psychic powers acquired after the accident. Everything is a continuous pattern until Mr. Damen shows up in school and turns things around. We do get comical twist with Miles witty attitude and Haven’s dry humor. Do you believe in destiny? And karma? Alyson explores all these things and ties them in intricately. Throughout this book, I was held in suspense with  Damen’s character out- good/evil. Alyson brings a new twist to the paranormal immortal world,  good abberations at the end. We see interdimensions, love, jealousy, some dark secrets and some betrayal. Not the absolute best, but a good book. Can’t wait for the next one.

Evermore is the debut book in the Immortals Series. Ever Bloom, a once cheerleader had a near death experience and was given a second chance to live again! Or so she thought.
Feeling alone in the entire universe, feeling the grieve and guilt for being the only survivor in a tragic accident that destroyed her entire family… Ever- became a borderline antisocial freak! Until… Damien-! A boy she can’t seem to get out of her head… a guy who challenges her will to live again…  to laugh… to break free!
Alyson Noel is an eloquent writer, I like her imagination and her characters comes alive. The romance she described is poignant and pure at the same time. Evermore immensely got me hooked and I am looking forward to more books from this writer. Noel- is an original…  I couldn’t stop reading this debut book and read for hours at a time and was utterly addicted to the narrative from the first page. Without a shadow of a doubt I am recommending Evermore to readers who are looking for a book that will captivate them from the first word to the last. Overall, Evermore is a splendid novel that left me breathless, satisfied, and longing for more.

Blue Moon (The Immortals #2)by Alyson Noel  Eager to learn everything she can about her new abilities as an Immortal, Ever turns to her beloved Damen to show her the way. But just as her powers are increasing, Damen’s are waning.  In an attempt to save him, Ever travels to the magical dimension of Summerland, where she learns the secrets of Damen’s tortured past; a past which he has always kept hidden from her. But in her quest to cure Damen, Ever discovers an ancient text that details the workings of time. Now Ever must chose between turning back the past and saving her family from the accident that claimed their lives—or staying in the present and saving Damen, who grows sicker every day.

In Blue Moon, Ever is now embracing her new life as an immortal, learning the tricks and the trades, and of course sneaking in a few kisses here and there. But when we thought that the worse was over in Evermore, in comes Roman, the new kid on the block. What does he want? What is he up to? And how does he know Damen. Ever also finds herself having to choose between the now and what if. I was a bit annoyed at Ever for many reasons in this book, but had to remind myself that, sometimes teenagers don’t always think with their heads. Ever had me confused at times as to certain decisions she made despite, but at the same time it’s a great idiosyncrasy, because she is torn with all the choices she has to make. Good book- will continue to read on. One and a half thumb up.

Talk about High school musical gone Haywire!!!! “Just for the record I LIKED that movie”! But I can’t imagine saying the same thing for the book. I understand Ever’s qualms and not having her family with her and I understand the pressure of just being with her hot beautiful boyfriend forever! What I don’t understand is the need for the high school drama… betrayal, popular party tricks and deception! It was an over kill. I was irritated flat-out! AND- did I mention High school drama!!!! OMG!
I don’t like this book and I detested the second lead character Roman! Even more! All in all, the cliffhanger got me hooked!!!!  and I must say I am looking forward to the next installment. “Hopeful sigh”… :(
PS
Alyson Noel is still an imaginative writer and I respect her imagination… Evermore was a hard act to follow and I totally understand!!! Good job.

Shadowland (The Immortals #3)by Alyson Noel At the start of this breathtaking novel, Damen and Ever travel to Summerland in search of an antidote to reverse a powerful poison. But instead of the cure they seek, they find something far more sinister: the truth about their existence and the fate lying in wait of an immortal’s soul. Now, with Damen fighting to save them from the Shadowland, Ever turns to magick, hoping to break Damen’s curse. Along the way Ever encounters the mysterious Jude, finding herself drawn to him in a way that will test her love for Damen like never before .

Ever’s destiny and question of true love comes to play in Shadowland. We get an insight as to the beyond after Immortals die. Ever’s feelings are called into play when a new guy in town named Jude, thwarts the love between Ever and Damen as a secret of his own is revealed. Ever’s friend Haven is relentlessly jealous of Ever and this leads into a domino chain that affects everyone. I am so mad at Ever, can she stop making stupid mistakes. Ever is a very stubborn individual- this characteristic of hers is in my opinion the cause of her downfall. I could not stop reading, yet when I was done I was so unsatisfied. I feel as if Alyson is starting to drag her stories on a bit, either that or her main character Ever is really stupid. Looking forward to the next one…I need closure.

Who is the peculiar guy with the compelling sea green eyes -Jude?
Shadowland begins where Bluemoon ended! Ever admitting to Damien about the horrendous mistake she made in trusting Roman. Now, the two lovers are obsessed in finding the antidote to the antidote, and also saving both Damien and Ever from a fate far worse than Death! Yet, trying to come up with a way to safely be together- A.K.A. “Touch” in the meantime. Worst there’s a NEW “O.B. 1” in town – one who can perhaps turn their world upside down. I liked shadowland and I liked the author’s imagination… I was a little frustrated with Ever; nevertheless I was appeased in the end. And I am looking forward to the next installment.

Dark Flame (The Immortals #4)by Alyson NoelAt the start of this mesmerizing new installment of the Immortals series, Ever is helping her friend Haven transition into life as an immortal. But with Haven drunk on her new powers and carelessly putting them all at risk, their friendship becomes more and more strained. At the same time, Ever delves deeper into magick in order to get control over her enemy Roman and free Damen from his power. But when the spell she casts on Roman backfires, she’s bound to her deadliest enemy. Frantic to reverse the spell the moment the moon enters a new phase, she finds her efforts are fruitless—there’s a strange, foreign pulse coursing through her, one that propels her toward Roman. Desperate to break free of this terrible curse before Damen or the twins can discover what she’s done, she turns to Jude and delves deeper and deeper into dark magick, ultimately risking everything she knows and loves—including Damen.

In Dark Flame Ever has made the choice and must now live with the consequences. Haven is now immortal, and a bad one might I say. Her jealousy towards Ever has not subsided and she is hell bent on outshining Ever. In this one Ever still continues to make the same stupid decisions she was in the other books, I guess this a character trait of hers- stubborn and stupid. I think that given their history Damen has gained some sense of patience after living for centuries; hence his patience with EVER it is only normal.
Ever has a plan, she executes it, but it does not go as she has planned. It has backfired on her, and so we go on one of Alyson’s merry- go -round where Ever tries to fix everything(which of course could have been avoided, if she would have listened to someone else but her own big mouth) More action, definitely more secrets, and more magick, not just for the Immortals, but for the gifted ones.
Good book getting better ok so this one I must say was a little better than the last 2 books.

This series is starting to haul and right now I think I am losing my patience… Ever is borderline stupid! and annoying! The entire book is about her repetitive remorse and lost friendship… black magic and teenage hormonal imbalance…! Worst “Haven” is in the crazy picture!!!! As usual she found herself a pawn in a deadly age-old impasse! “I never liked her”!!! Plus Ever thought Haven was a real friend??? gods, She really is daft!
Right now, I just need closure, because I don’t really get where this series is going…. I mean Evermore was Awesome… but I think Alyson Noel took a wrong turn… she needs to back pedal and stick to the first storyline…. You know…. “Evermore, the debut novel”????  Great I imagination though!

Night Star (The Immortals #5)by Alyson Noel After fighting for centuries to be together, Ever and Damen’s future hinges on one final showdown that will leave readers gasping for breath. Don’t miss this explosive new installment of the #1 bestselling series that’s enchanted millions across the world! Haven still blames Ever for the death of her boyfriend Roman, no matter how hard Ever’s tried to convince her it was an accident. Now she’s determined to take Ever down…and destroy Damen and Jude along the way. Her first step is to tear Ever and Damen apart—and she has just the ammunition to do it. Hidden in one of Ever’s past lives is a terrible secret about Damen—a secret that illuminates new facts about her relationship with Jude, but that’s so dark and brutal it might be enough to drive her and Damen apart once and for all. As Ever faces her greatest fears about the guy she wants to spend eternity with, she’s thrust into a deadly clash with Haven that could destroy them all. Now it’ll take everything she’s got—and bring out powers she never knew she had—to face down her most formidable enemy. But in order to win, she must first ask herself: is her own survival worth dooming Haven to an eternity of darkness in the Shadowland? And will learning the truth about Damen’s past hold the key to their future?

So Ever sees something. Something that was not meant for her eyes. A dark secret of the past. And with that revealed, her future with Damen comes into question, her feelings for Jude comes into question and her friendship with Haven is pushed to the farthest limits. The world as she knows it is crumbling, and one of the most ultimate battles is yet to come. I must say Haven seems to be making smarter choices in this one. Finally she learned something after what- 4 catastrophes? Everyone has such a major role and all their decisions can affect the other more than you think. The search for the antidote for the antidote continues, while Haven continues her plots and goes out of control. Better, but despite improved judgments, Ever should have looked at the situation out of the box. Still a little too naive. Can’t wait for the finale.

Haven VS Ever… Showdown!
Haven Kills Ever!!!!
Ever Returns…. by Over coming her charkas!!!!
Haven Dies… lost to shadowland! Hopefully, forever!
Creepy New character…
I must say I liked and enjoyed this installment and I am looking forward to the last and final- installment never again, rise and fall of Ever….
I Need closure! Period!
Alyson Noel is highly imaginative and I believe her originality is beyond comparison… indeed, I am speechless!

Everlasting (The Immortals #6)by Alyson Noel Everlasting is the sixth and final installment of the epic love story that has enchanted readers across the world. Ever and Damen have spent centuries facing down bitter rivals, jealous friends and their own worst fears-all in the hope of being together forever. Now in Everlasting, their destiny is finally within reach.
Will they be united-or torn apart forever? Readers will finally discover the truth in this anxiously awaited conclusion!

I don’t know how I feel about this book, but I will try to be kind.
The series is too long! (Six books)!!!!!
Some parts doesn’t make sense
Plus the book dragged, so many stupid repetitions.
Ever, is so annoying and dumb!!!.... Talk about the ultimate fiction!
To many details!... Just too much!!!
“The tree of life”????
“Adam and Eve”,
“ Eat the fruit”,
“Saving the soul”???? ,
“Destiny”????, “Chakras”????
We are all connected??? -DUH!
We know… that! “Hell I knew that since I was 5 years old”…  Remember the lion king???- The circle of life????  WOW!!!!
“And to top it all spirituality and religion”????
gods!!!!! What a waste of my time!
However, I like the originality… but all in all, I do NOT like the series and I don’t like the ending!!!!
Alyson Noel is a good writer, she is original but I really think this story line is a little farfetched!!!! I guess the waiting to be with each other was a little pre teen, so she decided to tackle in the tree of life crap.
I am so glad this series is over and I will not think of it again! EVER!
Sorry-

OK where do I start.... This is the finale- the great shebang- Ever and Damen must find the cure, the cure that allows them to ...let's say touch. but a mysterious creepy old lady keeps getting in their way. Ever eventually concludes that they all must go back to the start of all their lives, which is only revealed when they accept the old lady's proposal. In doing this a greater secret is revealed that gives Damen and Ever the hardest choices to make in their existence. Ever's true love and commitment is put to test, Damen's Immortality is at risk and Summer land, will never be the same.I thought that the overall idea for this series was good, new and overall unique. I think that the fact it took us six books to get here was utterly ridiculous. I found myself not liking the beginning, totally engrossed in the middle, then asking myself why oh why I was reading this at the end. At times Ever kept repeating herself over and over- It's like I blame you- but I love you- but you blame me- but I love you and so the cycle continues throughout the book. and even though I know at the bottom of my heart it's true I can't help but...- you get the point. Looking back I can't believe we have been waiting 6 book for two people to have sex, and then we find out that it was not the sex that was a problem all along, we have to go back, way back, back to the beginning...I must say that I only read this due to the fact that I needed closure. Some parts must give kudos I truly enjoy- seemed to be a little Shakespearean. the end message I got from all this- go to school, don't have sex, and always take heed to your elders.Overall
