Dear John By Nicholas Sparks

Title: Dear John
Author: Nicholas Sparks
Hardcover: 276
Genre: Literature & fiction, Romance
Publisher: Warner Books
Publication Date: October 30th 2006
An angry rebel, John dropped out of school and enlisted in the Army, not knowing what else to do with his life--until he meets the girl of his dreams, Savannah. Their mutual attraction quickly grows into the kind of love that leaves Savannah waiting for John to finish his tour of duty, and John wanting to settle down with the woman who has captured his heart. But 9/11 changes everything. John feels it is his duty to re-enlist. And sadly, the long separation finds Savannah falling in love with someone else. "Dear John," the letter read...and with those two words, a heart was broken and two lives were changed forever. Returning home, John must come to grips with the fact that Savannah, now married, is still his true love—and face the hardest decision of his life.
OMG!!! A good romantic novel for the hopelessly romantic such as myself...! Except for the bittersweet ending...Why oh why I finished this book in tears. If you are looking for that perfect happy ending-DO NOT READ THIS-- but for all others looking for that romantic light reads this is it. Nicholas Sparks NEVER DISAPPOINTS. John does not have much of a life, he enlists in the US ARMY hoping to better him but a few weeks before getting shipped of he meets Savannah and that's where this story starts. It follows the couple enduring and trying to make things work long distance. John does his time and can't wait for the day his service contract is up, but when 9/11 happens, John is faced with a hard choice, - fight for his country or go home to the woman he loves. One and a half thumb
