Witch Eyes By Scott Tracey

Title: Witch Eyes
Author: Scott Tracey
Series: Witch Eyes # 1
Publisher: Flux
Paperback: 332
Publication Date: September 8th 2011
Braden was born with witch eyes: the ability to see the world as it truly is: a blinding explosion of memories, darkness, and magic. The power enables Braden to see through spells and lies, but at the cost of horrible pain. After a terrifying vision reveals imminent danger for the uncle who raised and instructed him, Braden retreats to Belle Dam, an old city divided by two feuding witch dynasties. As rival family heads Catherine Lansing and Jason Thorpe desperately try to use Braden's powers to unlock Belle Dam's secrets, Braden vows never to become their sacrificial pawn. But everything changes when Braden learns that Jason is his father--and Trey, the enigmatic guy he's falling for, is Catherine's son.To stop an insidious dark magic from consuming the town, Braden must master his gift—and risk losing the one he loves
This book was unique in its own way, it was different, a little disconcerting, humorous and refreshing. I like the author’s way of writing; I like the pace, the tension and the suspense.  Tracey Scott, made sure there were lots of battle...
Anonymity...  and in the end I was left wanting more!

Belle Dam is a town that has been wearing a veil of darkness ever since its origin. It’s a town ruled by witches! And Belle Dom has been divided by a feud between the two prevailing families who keep its secrets. The Lansing’s and the Thorpe’s have been in feud for a long time that I don’t believe that both families really know how it all started.  Worst, because of all the drama, the townies or human residents must choose sides pick a family to support, until Braden appears in Belle Dam.

Braden is a witch, but he is also different, he has “the sight”, or as he calls it, “witch eyes”. When he came to Belle Dom, he’d hoped he‘d be saving his uncles life, little did he know that he was being played, being used as a weapon, a tool, a pawn and he has to pick a side.  But whose side should he pick?  He’s father’s, a man who abandoned him? Or his lover Trey, a Lansing, his father’s enemy… both families wants Braden… for his magic!

Witch Eyes was a well-written debut novel laced with an engrossing originality and etched in your mind characters. Scott made the story his own and I liked the cover Art. I am reading book two! Curiosity and all
