Fallen Series By Lauren Kate

Title: Fallen
Author: Lauren Kate
Series: Fallen # 1
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Hardcover: 452
Publication Date: December 8th 2009
There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move. Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.
OMG! WOW!  Where do I start?  “Nephilims” yes…loved the plot! A bit of mystery too! And, ROMANCE, ages of romance… Fallen got me wondering, how long is too long to love just one person? And does love have expiration date?  Luce and Daniel PROVED my speculations!
All I can say is I am looking forward to reading more books in the series.
Lauren Kate is an exceptional writer.  The writing was very good. It was daunting, puzzling, and very medieval. And I loved every minute of it!  The beginning of this book is a bit slow, but I like slower books that build up character progress and then conclude with a Blast!
I liked Luce (heroine), she was a gentle character, she was strong and out of the ordinary. Her two love interests Cam (A maybe) and Daniel (Soul mate) were intriguing, sexy and drool inducing!
I loved the secondary characters as much as Luce and Daniel. Arianne was peculiar, in a way… Penn was diligent and a good friend.  “FALLEN” is an incomparable book in its own way, its romantic, appealing, and will no qualms be an awe-inspiring series. I can’t wait to read the sequel! “Torment”
I certainly recommend this book! Its brain food … swear

First things first,  the cover got me. Yes this unique blend of gothic and what seems like a weeping girl on the cover in a dark forest. What greets me inside is a great modern tale of how humans and the fallen angels have coexisted in secret all these years. We follow a girl named Lucinda Price or Luce for short. Dropped of at a school for troubled kids. Once she enters the front door of this school the world, as she knows it cease to exist. The students here either hate you or love you, no in between. She makes quick friends with some and sure enemies of others. Most of the teachers seem to dislike all students. She finds herself drawn to Cam a sweet funny sensual guy who takes an immediate liking to her, but also magnetically entranced to Daniel, a cute meek student who seems to loathe if not hate the very presence of Luce. But what seems like a depressed dark cold place for the bad…a secret is revealed, a deep secret that goes back many years, one that holds the key to Luce’s destiny. The key lies in her choice…who will it be and why??
Had me hooked from the beginning!

Title: Torment
Author: Lauren Kate
Series: Fallen # 2
Publisher: Random House
Hardcover: 452
Publication Date: September 28th 2010
Hell on earth. That's what it's like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel. It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts - immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students -Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans. At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn't told her everything. He's hiding something - something dangerous. What if Daniel's version of the past isn't actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else? The second novel in the addictive FALLEN series . . . where love never dies.
Stretching the shadows to see what they reveal
The relationship between an angels and demons
The new characters Shelby, and Miles (A what if love interest) oh! And creepy eyes…
Dancing under the moonlight!
It gets better!  And I really,  “REALLY”  liked Torment! Torment starts right off were fallen ended. Luce and Daniel fled from Sword & Cross, to a new boarding school, Shoreline, in sunny California.  Off course a new school comes a whole new spread of drama!
Drama #1- Miles.
Drama # 2-Luce also finds herself trapped in a battle of good and evil! All I can say is that the plot and twist are to die for. The ending??? Enthralling, captivating, mind- blowing, and Tears… lode of tears – Matter of fact, I felt hollow in the end. It was heartbreaking. Poor Daniel! This is an epic love story, a must read. Brilliant!   Best cover award for 2010.
- Well-done! "Passion"  Third book Fallen Series   I can’t wait.

Ok where to start… Lauren Kate gives us a phenomenal sequel to her first novel Fallen. Just as the first I could not put this book down once I started. We all seem to have the obvious answer as to which Luce should be with, but in a great twist of the fates Lauren leaves us second-guessing everyone’s character and the sides we pick. The good aren't so innocent and the bad…. well maybe we misunderstood their side of the story.
We is also introduced to Nephilims who are supposedly half breeds- (half human half angel) a whole new world added on to the one we just brought into from Fallen.
Lucinda yet again now finds herself torn and truly tormented as she feels left out of the loop and clueless…everyone knows what’s going on except her. Frustration leads her on a wild escapade which opens doors and windows to new questions, new found answers and forces some secrets to come out
I truly wish at this time I had 2 pairs of hand to give this book 4 thumbs and 20 toes….

Title: Passion
Author: Lauren Kate
Series: Fallen # 3
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Hardcover: 420
Publication Date: June 14th 2011
"Every single lifetime, I'll choose you. Just as you have chosen me. Forever." Luce would die for Daniel. And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way. . . Luce is certain that something—or someone—in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime . . . going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel . . . and finally unlock the key to making their love last. Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history. Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames . . . forever.
OMG!!!!! Where do I start, Lauren Kate is Awesome! Nope! Not good enough! She is an amazing writer!  Nahhhhh….
Eloquent.
Passionate.
Thrilling… yeah! That’s it!
She is a writing god persona incarnate!!!!! Heck there are NO words!!!!
All I know is that writing about Daniel and Luce’s past, the lodes of research she’d done must have been hard work!!!! BUT she made it easy!  She took us back through time in a way that makes you feel … like you were right there!!!! 3-D!!!
Moscow.
Milan.
Tahiti.
London.
Tibet.
China.
Jerusalem.
Egypt, and many more!!!
As it turns out Luce dying again and again had nothing to do with them in the first place!!! The catalyst behind the ripple effect is an age-old BEEPING war and Luce is the punishment. NOT the BEEPING price! (At least that’s my opinion)
I mean YEAH!!!!! They had a part to play, but NO! Why involved them? ALSO, Luce sorts the answers she was looking for (Her love for Daniel)! And though I detested the end to torment, after reading passion I found out the ending for torment was necessary hence her horrific choice (leaving Daniel, and stepping through time). The author is brilliant! I believe she crafted and orchestrated this story from the very beginning and she did it brilliantly, well done!!!!! I loved every chapter, every sentences and punctuations of this book, even the creepy little gargoyle… well until….

OMG Lauren Kate- you did it again. OMG this was a great book which cured my curiosity of the past lives of Luce and Daniel. My heart truly felt the pain that Daniel suffers every time Luce burned. Now that we got all those loose ends tied we have to break the curse in Rapture. To all you non-believers of love- shame on you! Luce, after feeling betrayed and left in the dark in torment, Luce has to find out why she is so drawn to Daniel and what their story truly is. She steps back in time with the help of a newfound friend named Bill. Can she find out why? What? And the How’s? Of the curse. Love is truly the answer to all in this world.
Daniel is out to catch Luce before the future can be unraveled, but where he ends up sets a whole new twist to the story. Will Luce and Daniel be together? And who are the others? My heart aches for them both. We were even treated to seeing another side of Cam...(sigh) If you were faced with a choice like this what would you do? Would you pick love above everything else/ time shall tell for these two? Great adventure with our entire favorite Fallen, plus some. NB- Huge twist at the end!  Lauren please bring on Rapture!

Title: Fallen in love
Author: Lauren Kate
Series: Fallen # 3.5
Publisher: Random House
Hardcover: 201 pages
Publication Date: January 24th 2012
What makes your heart race a little faster? Just in time for Valentine's Day, it's FALLEN IN LOVE, four wholly original new stories collected in a new novel set in the Middle Ages by Lauren Kate. FALLEN IN LOVE gives fans the much-talked about but never-revealed stories of FALLEN characters as they intertwine with the epic love story of Luce and Daniel. The stories include: Love Where You Least Expect It: The Valentine of Shelby and Miles , Love Lessons: The Valentine of Roland; Burning Love: The Valentine of Arriane; and Endless Love: The Valentine of Daniel and Lucinda.
These are collective stories about the characters we love and what makes them tick. We witnessed Daniel and Luce’s First Valentine in one of their previous lives, Miles and Shelby made an appearance, and I think there is something between those two…Roland’s story was heart breaking, but we got to understand him better… his story was earnest and wonderfully written as it also gave more depth into Roland. The story follows how he remembers the one mortal girl he ever loved, Rosaline. In the end, Roland understands what fighting for love means.  And Arianne, we got to see what could make her break and how she’s being dealing with her heart breaking. The story centers on Arianne and how her love, Tess, sided with Lucifer in the war! Tess wants Ari to join Lucifer so they don’t have to hide their love anymore. Arianne, however, doesn’t want to side with Lucifer … she doesn’t share the same believes. In the end, sometimes love isn’t enough! All in all it was an okay read.

 Title: Rapture
Author: Lauren Kate
Series: Fallen # 4
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Hardcover: 448 pages
Publication Date: June 12th 2012
RAPTURE, the fourth & final FALLEN novel, is the Lauren Kate book the world has been waiting for.The sky is dark with wings. . . .Like sand through an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past, they must find the place where the angels fell to earth.Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again. Yet together they face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen. For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now is the only one that truly matters. In the fight for Luce, who will win?The astonishing conclusion to the FALLEN series. Heaven can’t wait any longer.
Rapture is the final conclusion to the fallen Series and I must say Lauren Kate ROCKED! I will miss the bunch of hooligans… er …. Angels and Demons- Daniel, Luce, Cam, Ari, Gabby, Roland and all whom I didn’t mention, it was a brilliant end! And the twist! OMG! OMG! OMG! The twist and turns and surprises are all jaw dropping, and I didn’t see any of it playing out! I will recommend reading the entire series from Book one Fallen, Torment, Passion and book four Rapture. WOW! It was shocking… it a super good way. I'm not going to give too much away, in fact I am not giving any summary because this is a book you must read and get to the thrill on your own time. It’s just that juicy, so if you want to know what I’m going on about, then, well… “Rapture”!

Rapture started right after Passions, the clock is about to be re set, and lives and in danger. Luce and Daniel might loose everything, the world, as we know it might end. The only hope, comes down to that final vote and the only angel that could turn the tides and tip the scale… And our beloved characters must reach the location where it all begun. Will they make it? Now that Angel’s and Demon are working together for a common goal, who now are the enemy?

It was well worth the four-year journey and I’d do it again… in a heartbeat.  Rapture was absolutely everything I had hoped it would be to a great extent and extra. Though, it was a bittersweet ending, Rapture had an ending that will be scorched and smudge and plastered in our hearts and minds for a longtime. It was truly a story of love that in my opinion rival’s “Romeo and Juliet” and that’s saying something. I loathe that this is the end, nevertheless I will read these books - Fallen, Torment, Passion and Rapture for ages because I don’t think I would get tired of revisiting these characters! As for the author Lauren Kate, What’s next?  Because I know it will be phenomenon!  When? And please sign me up! I am all in. Well-done!

I bought the first book (and maybe the second) at some point- probably they were on sale. I'm so glad the final book is out- this is my favorite way to read a series. I like when I can hold out and just read them from the first to the final book. I hate waiting.

I'm following you via GFC- saw your post on the Book Blogs group. My blog is at: http://365-books-a-year.blogspot.com
