Laurel was mesmerized, staring at the pale things with wide eyes. They were terrifyingly beautiful--too beautiful for words.Laurel turned to the mirror again, her eyes on the hovering petals that floated beside her head. They looked almost like wings. In this extraordinary tale of magic and intrigue, romance and danger, everything you thought you knew about faeries will be changed forever
“Wings” was a swift and pleasant read. It’s a story of 15-year-old Laurel who has been homeschooled
up until this point and has started her first year of high school. Like... adapting to high school isn’t
bad enough, she started growing a huge flower on her back!!! Laurel experienced
some out of the blue changes… and
learns that she is not who she thought she was. It turns out that she is… Well let's just say I got hooked. Tamani…
or David… I like Tam!
Book Rating:
I love fae stories, and the author Aprilynne captures fae in her unique way.
General theories of fae are followed with a few exceptions and some twists to
the rules. We follow Laurel who is your everyday teenager with the weirdest eating
habits. She finds out that she
herself is fae. Upon introduction to this world Laurel is faced with the choice
between love and duty. Should she embrace this fae life or continue in the
human world. She forms a connection with David fellow human teenager who helps
guides her in this new path. Chelsea a fun exuberant tell it like it is girl,
and then there is Timani, who reminds me of Puck prankster from other
folktales. Join Laurel on this sweet romantic tale of a girl trying to find her
way in between worlds.

Six months have passed since Laurel saved the gateway to the faerie realm of Avalon. Now she must spend her summer there, honing her skills as a Fall faerie. But her human family and friends are still in mortal danger--and the gateway to Avalon is more compromised than ever. When it comes time to protect those she loves, will she depend on David, her human boyfriend, for help? Or will she turn to Tamani, the electrifying faerie with whom her connection is undeniable?
I can’t just storm in and proclaim my intentions. I cant
'steal' you away. I just have to wait and hope that, someday, you’ll ask,"
Tamani said.
"And if I don't?" Laurel said, her voice barely
above a whisper.
"Then I guess I’ll be waiting forever."
Spells, to
continuation to WINGS! This book takes you deeper into the chronicle of
faeries. In this installment, we know and understand a little more about
Avalon, a faerie realm where feas train to be the master or become competent in
their caste and… Spell has lodes of exciting, quest and its fast paced and
thrilling.
Romantic relationships and heartbreaks
are in order, creepy new characters guaranteed! As for Laurel, she has the best
of both worlds and I still think she should be with Tam! “Spells” is a good read and I can’t
wait until the book next series…
simply because the cliffhanger is a bit mouth hanging…. All in all, there is going to be a next
book! In the end, it became an okay book and that’s because Tam is hurting!!!! L Bias? Me? NO!
Book Rating:
“Spells” is the second chapter in the wings series. Laurel is now sworn
protector for her human family. She is summoned back to Avalon to learn the
tricks of her trade. While there she learns more of fae life, and the caste
system. She also sees another side of Tamani. I must say that I fell in love
with Tamani here. Now Laurel finds herself in a fight for her life as well as
her loved ones, while trying to decipher whom her heart belongs to. Are you
team David or Team Tam? I am telling you I feel as torn as Laurel at this
point.

Laurel hasn't seen Tamani since she begged him to let her go last year. Though her heart still aches, Laurel is confident that David was the right choice. But just as life is returning to normal, Laurel discovers that a hidden enemy lies in wait. Once again, Laurel must turn to Tamani to protect and guide her, for the danger that now threatens Avalon is one that no faerie thought would ever be possible. And for the first time, Laurel cannot be sure that her side will prevail.
WINGS, was decent, SPELLS was charming,
but ILLUSIONS was just
simply mind-blowing.
Tamani's back
(giggles)!!!!
I love the plot
of the book, it become more interesting. I like the fact that the book became
grown-up. There is a lot of conspiracy going on, and it looks like Tam and
Laurel are going to end up together (Thank the gods)
Trolls on the
other hand are not the center of the book this time! I guess the troll thing is
pretty much over rated and it seems like these rivals have gotten a lot smarter
or less dense. Which made the book much more fascinating and startling. The
cliffhanger is a jaw dropper …I can't wait for the next installment!
Oh! DID I mention Tam is
back??? I love that little fey!
Book Rating:
OMG when “spells” were over my heart was broken in two, but he's back. Yes Tam is
back, but why? That’s the question on everyone's mind. With all that has gone
on before Laurel, Chelsea and David are on high alert, there are a few new
people in town and we don't know whom to trust. The pressure is on Laurel
whether or not she should return to Avalon, and with all this trolls are
mysteriously disappearing. This book unravels with such a cliffhanger; I think
that for the first time I am mad at the author. I am pining for the last book.
Can't wait to see how it ends. Laurel has me a bit upset as well in this one as
I think all her motives were entirely selfish. I love Tamani more than
anything, but I am not sure Laurel deserves him. As for David...As of now all I
can say is that I am team Shar- how about that!

"Tamani looked at her gravely, and reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear.He hesitated for an instant, then his hands found the sides of her face, pulling her to him. He didn't kiss her, just held her face close to his, their foreheads resting together, their noses almost touching".She hated how much it felt like good-bye.Laurel now knows the truth: Yuki is a rare winter faerie, the most powerful—and deadly—of all, and Klea plans to use her to help conquer and destroy Avalon. But Klea's reach extends far beyond one wild winter faerie. With Tamani, David, and Chelsea by her side, Laurel prepares to face what may be Avalon's final days, in the stunning conclusion to the Wings series
Hecate's eye! WOW! What a book! All I can say is Knockout! Sensational!
Smashing! A great ending to a masterpiece and I must say that I am sorry that this
series is at its conclusion. But, no worry I will be reading theses books for
years to come. Destined has everything… war, love, romance, malice, loss, fear,
bravery, courage, cowardice, and most importantly friendship and trust; plus, a
better future for humans and fey.
Aprilynne Pike is
the only author who has woven a tale that made me understand that a love
triangle doesn’t have to be unpleasant. I mean, to me in the end… it didn’t
matter who Laurel ended up with. I loved both Hero’s or should I say love
interest…Tamani and David, I loved them both… no lingering resentment and this
is the first for me. Pike made
sure that they all had their HEA (happily ever after) as it should be. It was
flawless. Aprilynne Pike is… there are no words to justify how talented she is
and I admire what she has written. I am also a fan for life. It was a perfect
end NOT bitter sweet a perfect end to a well-told story. Triumph! Well-done!
Book Rating:
Wow- what a way to ed it all destined is the final book in the wings series which had me smiling and crying at the same time. We start of with the cliffhanger ending book three had us tearing our hair out. Yuki is a winter fae and it is revealed that Avalon is in danger. Tamani, Shar ,David Chelsea and Laurel must find a way to save it. All of fae is depending on them. When the truth is revealed about Klea her origins and where she came from , this group will be put to the ultimate ring of tests. The book is surely non stop adrenaline action from start to finish. love freindship and honor are all tested. Ultimate sacrifices are made, true love is found and lost, and manyt questions answered. Enimies are numerous and battle seems as if it is neverending but Aprilyne had me hooked to the pages. Destined ends with a bittersweet tasteas most fae novels do with a question poised by the author which will have you thinking- What will happen if the magic did exist, if we knew about the fae?--. Definately reccomend this for fae lovers, with one last thought- we have been following Laurel throughout the story since she met avid, and since then her character's story has always been intertwined with someone else. Was this story really about her? As the author has revealed, the entire series has been about David all along... Two thumbs
