Dawn & Winnie Book Reviews
Author: Michelle Rowen
Series: Night watchers Series # 1
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Paperback: 348 pages
Pub Date: May 29th 2012
I don't do dangerous. Smart, über-careful, ordinary Samantha-that's me. But I just couldn't pass up a surprise kiss from my number-one unattainable crush. A kiss that did something to me...something strange. Now I feel hungry all the time, but not for food. It's like part of me is missing-and I don't know if I can get it back. Then there's Bishop. At first I thought he was just a street kid, but the secrets he's keeping are as intense as his unearthly blue eyes. If he's what I think he is, he may be the only one who can help me. But something terrifying is closing in, and the one chance Bishop and I have to stop it means losing everything I ever wanted and embracing the darkness inside me.... NIGHTWATCHERS When angels and demons must work together, something beyond evil is rising...
It started with a Kiss, A kiss that
changed everything… Worst
she wanted it.
Dark Kiss was a
quick and fun read. It was slow building with an explosive conclusion! Samantha
is a typical teenager who is cautious, gets good grades and tries to stay out
of trouble. She stays away from
anything slightly dodgy. Yet, when Sam’s attractive and charming crush, Stephen
kisses her, Sam loses something more precious to her than life itself. Then,
Sam meets Bishop; a beautiful creature whose presence compels her into helping
him with his mission, like she was supposed to… destiny maybe. Dark Kiss
centers on Samantha and four friends working together to over come the evil
that is about to consume earth. First, they have to trust each other, Worst how
can they work together, when they are suppose to be enemies and they all have
secrets…
Michelle Rowen is
a brilliant author who took the notion of angels and demons, then penned a
story that I found completely absorbing and unique. I found the turns and twist
and mystery frustrating yet compelling. It was remarkable to see angels and demons
working together to keep the symmetry in heaven and hell. Generally this book
was very well written and I enjoyed reading it… plus I am eagerly waiting for
book 2, wicked kiss
A big thanks to Netgalley and Flux publishers for the
Advanced Readers Copy of Dark Kiss
by Michelle Rowen.

The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it. ~James Bryce
